The Aboriginal People of Australia
	The first people to live in Australia before any European or British people arrived and settled there were the Aborigines. Aboriginal art often involves painting colourful dots onto a black background to represent a person’s beliefs or ‘dreamings’. Dreaming stories are usually about the creation of something, like: an animal, a plant or a sacred (special) place. The didgeridoo is a wooden instrument made by the Aborigines which plays a drone sound when blown. They also invented the boomerang which flies back to you when it is thrown.
