Back Saving Electricity
A lot of our electricity comes from power stations fuelled by: coal, oil and natural gas. These fossil fuels let out harmful gases when they burn which can cause breathing problems and add to the dangers of global warming.

You can use less electricity by:
  • using energy-saving light bulbs;
  • turning the lights off when you leave a room;
  • not leaving televisions and computers on standby;
  • having double-glazed windows fitted which stops heat escaping;
New ways of generating electricity which are less harmful to the environment are becoming more popular. They include getting power from: the wind, the tides and the Sun.
