Back Endangered Animals
An animal is called endangered when there are so few of its kind left that it could disappear from the planet altogether and become extinct.

Pollution, chopping down rainforests and building can all affect animal habitats and mean they have nowhere to live and nothing to eat.

There are 8,462 types of animal whose futures are threatened, including: tigers, polar bears, gorillas and pandas.

You can help endangered animals by supporting animal charities like the World Wildlife Fund or by adopting an animal at your local zoo which would pay for its keep.
