The first people to live in Australia before any European or British people arrived and settled there were the Aborigines.
Aboriginal art often involves painting colourful dots onto a black background to represent a person’s beliefs or ‘dreamings’. Dreaming stories are usually about the creation of something, like: an animal, a plant or a sacred (special) place.
The didgeridoo is a wooden instrument made by the Aborigines which plays a drone sound when blown. They also invented the boomerang which flies back to you when it is thrown.
