Transport on Scottish Islands
	Regular ferry services run between the Scottish mainland and the island communities. It can take an overnight ferry journey to get to the furthest islands. Lots of people also fly in small planes to get from island to island or to the mainland. Many Scottish islands only have single-track roads on them, where cars have to pass each other at wider spots called passing places. Lots of people drive 4x4 cars or pickups so they can use them on their crofts (small farms), whilst others either walk or ride bicycles to get around. There are never any traffic jams because there aren't many people.
